Abbas Yousif is a Bahraini artist and writer born in 1960, known for his deep engagement with Arabic literature, poetry, and Sufi philosophy. He earned a BA in Arabic literature from Qatar University in 1982 and began his artistic journey under the mentorship of Abdul-Jabbar Al-Ghadban in 1990.
His work spans painting, collage, bookmaking, and printmaking, often incorporating calligraphy and typographic elements. Yousif’s art is characterized by rhythmic compositions and abstract forms inspired by spiritual and literary texts. He has exhibited widely across the Middle East and internationally, and his pieces are held in collections in countries including Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, the UK, UAE, Syria, Ukraine, and the US.
